Cata Raid
Sunday 12/19/10 will be our first Cataclysm run. I believe our target is Throne of the Four Winds. Rathr put out invites this morning, post here if she missed you and you want to go. Don't forget that lockouts work differently in Cata, if you want to raid 25's you will not be able to raid 10's on the same character. If we have more than 10 people interested we'll be inviting based on the usual factors; Group Composition (2/5.5/2.5 to start), Gear (Gemmed and Enchanted), Past Performance, ect. ect. If gear or group comp is an issue we won't be banging our heads against the wall for 3 hours. We'll just say we saw the new content and go back to grinding heroics.
Raid Times: Sundays & Mondays 8:00ish - 11:00ish server

Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cunt... me.

Cata Raid
We'll be giving this another go this weekend hopefully. We'll have to see how it goes with everyones busy holidays. I just wanted to give a few FYI tips. If you want to raid, you need to be raid ready. Have your gear gem'd and enchanted. I understand if you don't want to put expensive gem's enchants into gear you are going to replace so I'll make it easier for you. Gem/Enchant all 346 and higher ilvl stuff. That's heroic loot and revered/exalted faction loot. If you use gearscore you should be at about 7300. If you don't then you can use the Character Menu to find your Average Item Level. You should be right around 335.

this. i think 346 is a good baseline for properly gemmed / enchanted gear. raids are no longer ez mode, people will need to make a commitment to being prepared, including gear, relearning how to play your class, and researching encounters. yes, there will always be a learning curve during raids, but proper preparation saves everyone's time and allows for more quality attempts. if you go back far enough in these forums, you will find the same things repeated frequently.WarmApplePie wrote:We'll be giving this another go this weekend hopefully. i realize gems especially aren't cheap these days. this will likely be the case for a while due to the way recipes are acquired. on the other hand, scrolls for enchants can be found extremely cheaply on the ah due to people leveling enchanting. you may want to look for the end game enchants for your toon and stock up now. you can also check the guild professions to see if anyone can make what you need, for example alchemists can transmute unlimited blue gems with relatively cheap mats.
also, you should try to work on rep for your shoulder enchants, and whatever faction has your head enchant. there are also several decent pieces of rep gear you should try to get.
finally, if you have any questions, feel free to ask, here on the forums or in game. hopefully we can start to get the class forums updated for cata, but a good place for information is always elitist jerks: http://elitistjerks.com/forums.php
