DKP?!?! Outta Controll

Its crazy to me how the two thursday raids i miss DKP is awarded but all of the thursday fail attempts and nights where people don't show no DKP is given. Frankly i don't care how you choose to do DKP but be consistant. If DKP is given for showing up or attempts great I think thats the way it should be. But don't give you DKP when you feel like it and not when you don't.

You make it sound like this is something we do once and a while whenever the spirit moves us. This is the FIRST TIME EVER that we've awarded Bonus DKP.

Henry will be posting his epic post later, but basically: We're awarding Bonus DKP tonight as a thank you to the people that showed up and stuck it through. We didn't want to previous weeks because we were hoping it was just a temporary thing and we'd be able to raid on Thursdays again. This being the 3rd Thursday in a row we were unable to fully raid, we decided to go through with it. Should we decide to continue attempting 25s on Thursday it will likely continue.

3dkp not enough imo but its a start and I applaud the decision.

Btw Thermal, attendance was noted on 2 previous thursdays but 0 DKP awarded. Also we got 1DKP for festergut tries the one time that we were able to put together a raid on Thursday. Nothing here is anywhere close to out of control.

The 3 DKP was decided based on the average(ish) DKP awarded per boss. Three main spec pieces of loot go for 25 DKP each, awarding the raid 3 DKP each. So basically its like 1 free boss-worth of DKP.

The 1 DKP for Festergut tries was not bonus DKP, but because we had a Necklace drop on the trash (the loot is listed on the Raid for that day).

to expand a bit on my smart ass reply...
we're not really here to collect dkp and pretty purplez, we're supposed to be here to hang out with friends and raid and kill stuff and progress through content. we can't do that without a full raid of prepared people.
personally, i think that dkp should be used strictly for loot distribution purposes, but it was decided that we should award a small amount of dkp for those that show up on thursdays and sit around and wait while we are not able to fill a raid. whether or not this will serve as motivation for others to try to show up more consistently remains to be seen, but we are at least going to give it a try.

As a final thought, for the people that have constant and never-ending criticism of other guildies and officers and how they choose to run stuff, maybe find a place that suits your needs better? It's not a high-maintenance guild. Check out that recently transfered one that took top, or Crisis or something. The majority is pretty ok with things as they are. Even though I'm not on much, if I was, I'm fine with how Henry and the rest are doing stuff. Just simmer.

Did I get bonus DKP? I mean I've only missed 3 or 4 raids.......last week being because of my birthday.... (parents and friends dinners etc).

No you missed last Thursday, which was the first day attendance DKP was awarded.

Meh, our DKP is a work in progress. We've had to tailor make a system that works for us since we're a unique guild. So being that way changes happen on the fly after what I'm sure its a long discussion in the officer forums. No slight is/was intended I'm sure.
