The Crusader's Coliseum: Trial of the Champion Guide
Welcome to the Trial of the Champion, the new 5-man dungeon at the
Crusader's Coliseum, being added in "World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich
King's" patch 3.2! Fierce warriors, strange nightmares, and a surprise
showdown await you beyond the gates of the Trial of the Champion!
First Event: The Grand Champions
[HP] Normal: 119,000; Heroic: 315,000 [HP]
Grab your lances and saddle up! The first encounter in the Trial of the
Champion includes facing three of the opposite faction's grand champions
of the coliseum. There are five champions for each faction, one
representative for each race, and players will face a random three of
them. Each champion has their own class specifications which take effect
when the fight engages on foot. The champions are:
The Alliance Champions
Marshal Jacob Alerius (Human) - Paladin [DPS + Healer]
Lana Stouthammer (Dwarf) - Paladin [DPS]
Jaelyne Evensong (Night Elf) - Hunter [DPS]
Ambrose Boltspark (Gnome) - Mage [DPS]
Colosos (Draenei) - Shaman [Healer + DPS]

The Horde Champions
Mokra the Skullcrusher (Orc) - Warrior [DPS]
Deathstalker Visceri (Undead) - Rogue [DPS]
Runok Wildmane (Tauren) - Druid [Healer + DPS]
Zul'tore (Troll) - Hunter [DPS]
Eressea Dawnsinger (Blood Elf) - Paladin [DPS + Heals]
To begin with, the grand champions will line up with three lesser
champions each. Wave by wave in threes, the lesser champions will charge
you on mounts, and you will need to take them down one by one until you
have proven your worthiness to their bosses. Then, all at once, the grand
champions will charge! Using your mounted spells, defeat them one by one
by removing their shields and charging to attack. Once defeated, a grand
champion will be dismounted -- but he might try and get up to mount on
another horse! So be sure to run them over with your horse if they attempt
to get back up. Once they are all dismounted, your party will also become
dismounted and you will be required to fight the grand champions on foot.
Remember to equip your weapons instead of using your lance at this point.
After you finally defeat the three grand champions, you will activate part
two of the trial.

Normal - One ilvl 200 (Normal Naxxramas equivalent) epic item.
Heroic - One Emblem of Conquest, one Champion's Seal, and one ilvl 213
(Heroic Naxxramas equivalent) epic item.
Second Event: Represenatives of the Argent Crusade
In the following encounter, you will be matched with nine easy-to-kill
adds in three waves, and one of two representatives sent by the Argent
Crusade. The two possible representatives you'll be facing are:
Argent Confessor Paletress (Priest)
[HP] Normal: 107,000; Heroic: N/A [HP]
She will attack with a fury, casting numerous priest spells and abilities.
At 25%, she will spawn a 'memory' of previous "World of Warcraft" bosses.
The appearance of memories will range from Edwin VanCleef to Hogger, but
regardless of model they'll always have the same abilities, including a
nasty 2-3 second AoE fear. When a memory is spawned, Paletress will become
invulnerable until the memory is killed.
Eadric the Pure (Paladin)
[HP] Normal: 572,000; Heroic: 744,000 [HP]
Approaching with a holy wrath and using various paladin abilities, Eadric
puts up quite the fight. He will periodically cast a blinding spell that
will daze you for four seconds. To avoid this, turn so that your character
is facing away from him. Eadric also casts Hammer of Justice, a 5-second
stun, and Hammer of the Righteous, a direct holy damage attack.
Once defeated, your host announces that you will be recognized for your
efforts in the Trial of the Champion, but an unexpected surprise awaits...

Third Event: Return of the Black Knight
The Black Knight
[HP] Normal: 201,000; Heroic: 277,000 [HP]
After activating the next segment of the trial, an uninvited visitor
arrives. Descending from his skeletal gryphon, the Black Knight comes into
view, crushing your faction's host in chains and challenging your party!
This is the hardest fight in the dungeon, and it includes three phases:
Phase 1: Undead Form
This is mostly a tank and spank fight. Nearing death, the Black Knight
will summon one ghoul add, and upon death phase 2 starts. The Black
Knight's health stays consistent through each phase.
Phase 2: Skeleton Form
The Black Knight will come back to life as a skeleton, summoning a massive
army of ghouls. The tank must quickly pick up these adds and keep them off
of the healers and DPS. Burn him down again and phase 3 will start. (Note:
when the Black Knight dies, all surviving ghouls begin to explode doing
massive AoE damage to anyone standing near them.)
Phase 3: Ghost Form
This phase puts stress on the healer, and is a DPS race. After reviving
again as a ghost, the Black Knight will cast a debuff on the entire raid
increasing magic damage taken as well as casting an AoE inflicting tons of
magic damage. Get him down as quickly as possible to end the fight!
After defeating the Black Knight, you have completed the Trial of the
Champion! The faction leaders congratulate you, and then wish you good
luck in the new 10 and 25 man raids that await you just around the corner!
