Raid "on time" bonus

Post by Drumble »

Not sure what purpose this whole "on time" bonus is serving -- it's a big pile of loaded crap in a cannon really. We had 5 people finishing Heroic MgT as well as a number of other last minute stragglers.  Yet it's continually granted to everyone who makes it to the raid ... We DO INVITES at 7:30 -- if you're on and available (READ:  Not finishing up bullcrap - READY TO RAID) and accept the first invite given -- you are on time and deserve the bonus.

Maybe the "bonus" should just be that you get to raid? If you decide you need to finish up your "whatever" instead of getting there at invite time -- you best be sure you're irreplaceable.

Not only did we offer to leave, but at the time we started there were 13 guild members online (2 of which were non 70's who were not alts) so raiding wasn't looking good for the night.  We wouldn't have decided to go if raiding was looking like it was surely going to happen.  And not to mention once we did finish up and get invites, there were still probably 6 or 7 spots trying to be filled.

Yeah, they did offer to leave, but we hadn't filled up the spots so I didn't see a problem with them finishing up since they were almost finished.  Once we had the last spot filled they were ready to go within 3 minutes or so.

Raid "on time" bonus

I think the idea is that the raid should be the guild's priority on Tues/Wed/Thurs.  So regardless of what happened last night, what it seems like should be happening is the following: Everyone who is online and ready to raid at 7:30 drops whatever they're doing and forms a raid group.  You may have to wait around for a while.  Deal with it.  Go repair and prepare.  Buy flasks.  Farm mats or farm HKs at the instance entrance. IF the raid does not come together, THEN break apart into smaller groups afterwards.  The assumption should be that a raid is going to happen.  Please don't send tells to officers suggesting anything other than a 25-man prior to the raid's commencement; only if the raid does not come together do officers need to hear alternate suggestions.  Please let them focus on getting things together and don't distract them. Also, if you join the raid group, it should be assumed that you are fully prepared to raid.  1) Repaired.  2) Elixirs/Flask.  3) Food buffs.  4) All gear enchanted appropriately.  5) All gear gemmed appropriately.  6) Stocked with reagents/ammo.  7) Ample potions. 8) Weapon buff - i.e. poison/oil/stone. 9) Your best PvE gear for the encounters. Some of the officers are getting frustrated seeing incomplete/unprepared PvE raiders each week.  If you're one of them, you'll probably be called out on it soon.  Just giving notice.

not trying to take away from  your main point also because i do agree that  the way we are doign the bonus its pretty much just going to everyoen who goes to the raid insted of the people on at 7:30, but I have offered to leave group any time i was in a party when 7:30 rolled around in fact we actually ended up bailing on heroic magisters before we downed the last boss because we were told the group was ready

Thanks for seeing the real point of this thread -- I was merely your group as the obvious example from last night.  Not trying to nail people down ..

Ok I see that you were just saying the idea of an on time bonus in general is stupid, and I guess I would probably agree with that.

Bonus DKP is good. It needs to be implimented properly.
Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cunt... me.
