LF1 Tank for Grp1

Post by gryfter27 »

Sorry this is such late notice but I was hoping it did not come to this. I will be out for the next month or so due to my ship's deployment. I know i told jim that I was not going to be leaving anymore, but unfortunately due to operational commitments the command is unable to let me transfer as scheduled. The earliest I'll be back would be 6Sept but I may be held as late as October. Again I apologize for the last minute notice but I didnt know that I was definitely leaving until this morning (and the ship leaves tomorrow). Good luck on the raids and hopefully you guys down the remaining three bosses soon. (I really hope you dont at the same time i do since Ive managed to miss every major boss kill since joining this grp)

Definitely find a tank, my recommendation would be Druid since we don't have any current leather agility users. Quite a few people have seen my blood tanking and it was absolutely horrendous. Yesterday I tried it again with my semi incomplete set and it went worse. Jason, water, morbid, and Brian had to be there to suffer with it. I don't think it'll be too hard to find a solid Druid or other mainspec tank to take the role.

I think it's time to learn how to tank on the DK. I heard that blood tanking is OP.

I can blood dk tank it not veery geared tho only 355 ilvl
and blood dk is not OP cuz paragon refuse to use blood dks in any fights
and i can bear tank it if we fail to kill baleroc again which i highly doubt
or i can skip tonihgt's raid totally and come tank it on my bear - my bear is 361 equip

He's right hp. All the sources I'm reading say that dk is fine in the 359 content, but due to their reactive style tanking they fall way behind and are just lacking in the forelands content. I like this bear tank idea. Besides, I'm about to get chillblains back.

You know Arnold the Navy did that to my friend in Hawaii too. They told him they were transfering him and he got Navy housing in Maine, but then when she moved they told him he had to stay in Hawaii for a bit longer (month or so).

Him and she? Anyways, I think to make the most of our loot there should be a bear tank. I'm pushing for one because of A) How bad I've read DK tanking is in 372+ content, B) How bad my DK tanking/gear is, and C) The utility I think I can bring as DPS. I will personally go out recruiting for one if joobie can't make it every night.

Looks like Beiner's war is getting gear and stuff crafted, looks like we have a winner since he's been there for our bale and rhyo kill. So we wouldn't really have to explain anything to him.

Yeaj im pretty pissed about the whole situation but at least its only for a month or 2 vice the whole 7 month deployment. Man I cant wait til im retired though. Im really getting tired of this being this is the 2nd time its happened to me. Im glad ray or ryan are willing to sub in for me (not a perma-replacement) :D As selfish as it may sound I dont plan on quitting wow so I'd hate the thought of losing a raid spot

Is beiner willing to bring his warrior? Up above he posted "Not it!"

I like the idea of a druid also because we shard leather now that Andrew's never on.

He is crafting and shit to prepare for it so yes he is. He just said he may be a little late every now and then on Mondays. Sun/Mon will work fine for him. I'll help him VP farm if he needs it too. But he was saying "Not it" to not bringing his druid.

Edit: I like the idea of druid for that reason, and their threat generation is pretty high, not to mention their dodge is really nice too.

It is fun as a druid tank watching nothing but dodges during a entire decimate blade. :)

I'll probably be around again starting this week however, I have zero interest in tanking so, not really solving anything. Nor will I probably be a consistent enough raider ever again to be in a tank spot.

I'm sure we're trying to keep our group as consistent as possible though, regardless of role.

Hmm, maybe I should use my paladin to tank for group 1, then use my priest to DPS for group 3. That way, my priest can be the one to craft the first legendary caster staff from that group since Ryan's crew are all tanks+healers. It would be a shame for the first caster legendary in that group to go to Jason's alt, kek.
