Attunement Guide for TBC

Post by Drumble » March 21st, 2007, 7:56 am

There was a lot of info in this post on the WoW forums that I wanted to preserve, and I'm neither too trustworthy of their search functionality nor my keeping track of 1000 bookmarks functionality -- so I thought I'd post it here.   Credit to the post goes level 2 Alini from Aerie Peak, but she posted it from her own guild forums and didn't give credit.  Well - you can read: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This was not writen by me. It was actually posted on my guild forums, and I found it VERY useful. Raiding BC can be painful with the long quest-chaining attunements as well as the 10 man composition required for Karazhan. Most advanced raiding guilds have at least one team inside Karazhan and many guilds have multiple teams. What can be the most frustrating is getting your entire guild on the same page with what goals they are required to work towards. With that in mind I decided to create a checklist for raiding guilds to make management of a guild-wide attunement effort much easier. Step 1 - Karazhan Attunement Initial quest near Karazhan (starts at level 68, solo) Completion of Shadow Labyrinth (puggable) Partial completion of Steamvaults (puggable) Partial completion of Arcatraz (requires level 70 and flying mount, puggable) Completion of Black Morass (guild effort, challenging pug) http://www.ampwow.com/wow/viewnewzones/ ... ult=attune Step 2 - Serpentshrine Attunement Quest (Everyone must complete) Revered Reputation with Cenerion Expedition (solo quests, grouping through SV) Heroic Slave Pens, Quest giver in between first and second boss http://www.ampwow.com/wow/viewnewzones/ ... ult=attune Step 3 - To Summon Nightbane (Only one person required to summon) Revered Reputation with Honor Hold Revered Reputation with Lower City Quest line in Karazhan Partial completion of Heroic Shattered Halls Partial completion of Heroic Sethekk Halls http://www.ampwow.com/wow/viewnewzones/ ... ult=attune Step 4 - Serpentshrine Attunement While the quest from Slave Pens is active... Completion of Gruul's Lair Completion of Karazhan http://www.ampwow.com/wow/viewnewzones/ ... ult=attune Step 5 - Tempest Keep Attunement Completion of Cipher of Damnation quest series in Shadowmoon Valley Revered with Cenerion Expedition Revered with Sha'tar Revered with Honor Hold Revered with Shadow Labyrinth Completion of Heroic Steamvaults Completion of Heroic Arcatraz Completion of Heroic Shattered Halls Completion of Heroic Shadow Labyrinth http://www.ampwow.com/wow/viewnewzones/ ... ult=attune Step 6 - Mount Hyjal Attunement Completion of Black Morass Quest Vials of Eternity quest in Caverns of Time Completion of Serpentshrine Caverns Completion of Tempest Keep http://www.ampwow.com/wow/viewnewzones/ ... ult=attune The most useful thing that I've found with the attunement process is that there is always something to do. While some of your guild may be inside Karazhan, other players can work towards other necessary attunement quests while getting better gear along the way (such as Heroic dungeons). The biggest detriment is that the attunement process is long and because of the reputation requirement, guild mates that are new to 70 may lack the reputation required to gain access to Heroic dungeons. Because of the difficulty shift in the 5 man dungeons, guild mates are much less motivated to pug a group. It takes a lot of effort and a great deal of patience for a guild to stay tightly knit through the initial raids in Burning Crusade. Other tools... In regards to "gearing up" there's a tool that you can go to check your class's talent pool and find the appropriate gear be it rare or epic. This has been a useful reference when I've told my guild mates to research their upgrades. http://www.ampwow.com/wow/viewClassItems On a similar note you can also visit any dungeon or raid drop page here and filter by your own class to see what may be useful to you specifically. An example in Karazhan can be found here: http://www.ampwow.com/wow/viewnewzones/ ... ault=drops Good Luck and I hope your guild progresses quickly. Neggie - Bamboozled - Skywall
