First, please review Blizzard's post about the nature of the proc here. http://www.worldofraids.com/wow-blue-tr ... ngs.html#0
HP wrote
The following are the criteria that I think are appropriate for the healing mace. 1) Very high raid attendance.  We need the candidate to be there to actually receive the shards and we would like for them to use the mace to help us progress for the long term. 2) Very low probability of abandoning the healing role.  If they change specs or mains, we just wasted a mace. 3) To a lesser extent, the proc on the mace is more suited to main tank healing.  A healer that is normally assigned to the raid will most likely not exercise the full benefit of the proc. For all of the above, all signs point to a holy paladin of which we have one.  In terms of an alternate, it's sort of up in the air since we don't have a second holy paladin. -HP

To provide some minor (but not insurmountable) counterbalance, how about we charge half of the item DKP up front when the first shard is awarded and the second half when the item is complete.  Note that the earned DKP for this will be awarded to the phantom and not the raid at large.  If the item is not completed, the half DKP is refunded back to the candidate. This way, the person awarded the mace starts out slightly behind in DKP, but will catch up in no time (due to their stellar raid attendance). Similarly, if an alternate is needed (shard drops, but primary candidate is absent), they too will be charged half item DKP up front. -HP

I first want to apologize for the confusion caused by our first shard drop.  I thought that fragments would only drop off hard mode boss kills and Yogg Saron.  I figured that we had a month or more to get more Ulduar under our belt and stratify our healers against the three criteria above before we had to make the decision. Since only one fragment has dropped so far, we still have time to select a different primary candidate.  In the event this happens, Ofie will be an alternate.  However, I still believe that in a utilitarian sense, the three criteria above point to a main tank healer. Also, I want to note that I have disqualified myself from this item.  If you read Blizzard's post, shields do not cause the proc and I spend most of my time in a raid shielding (gogo discipline FTL). If you wish to nominate someone for the mace (including yourself), please post to this thread.  The decision will ultimately be the guild leader's.  If you wish to discuss the criteria or expand upon them, feel free to use this thread as well. Please keep the discussion in this thread positive. Thanks and sorry for the confusion. -HP

Can't say a whole lot without appearing biased, but in my sincerely unbiased opinion it does seem like large direct heals will benefit most sensibly from the weapon.   That being said, since hots and AoE heals also apply, multiple shield absorbings can't hurt either. Tsuni would also be a good candidate since his raid attendance is perfect, and he's always Holy.

Also, I wouldn't necesarrily take yourself out of the running either. You never know what nerfs/buffs are coming to certain classes, and if you respec that wouldn't be fair to you to miss out.

My vote goes entirely to the most active healer. Which I hear is Inori. And seeing as your a bitchin healer already...

The hammer gives you a buff (10% proc chance 45 second ICD) for 15 seconds that gives whoever your healing a 15% shield off the healing you do. It can't proc from OH (as i understand it) but it does still add to the shield. As the shield stacks with itself. Just like the disc shield does.

Disc priest is a single target healer, yes you shield, but you also heal one person for a crapload really quickly. Besides... say you get the nifty buff... and you get a nice 13k gheal crit, so you get the disc shield as well... toss a PW:S on em and hey you just stopped like 30k dmg.

"Example 1: A paladin casts Holy Light for 10K on the tank, which partially heals her. The Blessing procs, so the paladin’s Holy Light immediately causes a shield on the tank which will now absorb 1500 damage. The tank dodges the next two hits, so no damage is absorbed. The paladin then casts another heal for 8K, but only heals the tank for 600 before she is at full health. The shield is now at 2700 damage absorbed (1500 + 1200) for 8 sec." <---- Blue post

In essence. I Nominate Inori. now be quiet and take it like a man!

(BTW sorry I dont know a lot of you and I'm new an all that jazz. But this mace looks steller for any healer of any class of any spec. Therefore it should, imo, go to the highest attending healer, period.)

For all the time, effort, attendance, patience with noobs and all the while being kind and mature Inori deserves this. Even if in his own humility he says he is disqaulified.
Inori is such that he could easily have gone into any of the top guilds in WoW and yet he has stuck by you guys through out all the fail and in my opinion inherently deserves the mace.

So to be clear on this, right now the following people have fragments from guild runs: Ofie: 1, Sxy: 1

Tinker has one from a pug. And the other interested healers are Inori and Tsuni.

Before we spend a lot of time trying to figure out a single person now that they are spread out, does anybody think we'll actually get enough of these things to make the weapon? Asssuming our raiding time doesn't increase very much in the near future?

Sxy has 2. And yes, I think eventually we'll be able to get enough for one. But not if we spread them out. As it is, Sxy got hers because Ofie (who got the very first one) wasn't there.

I relinquish them all to Sxy under the condition I'm allowed to call her SxyCore forever.

And OMFG it's August.

i think we should split them all between the rogues. whoever decided that anyone else gets legendary weapons besides rogues (since noone remembers vanilla wow) anyway? :)

It's too bad they threw class requirements on it. It'd be awesome to see a hunter or a rogue running around with one.

Lol, <3 u Ofie. Although I hate sxycore, it's better than sexcore. I will never hate any of my guildies for calling me sxycore, you just may not always get a response, lol. But about that mace. I think it's very nice of you to pass to me, and it would be awesome to have this mace, but I would not be hurt if I was not the first to receive it. I only have 2 frags. That is just one more than Tsuni and you. I know this mace would probably be better for a paladin or priest so it really isn't too late for you, Tsuni or even Inori to begin receiving the frags. I would be upset, or butt hurt either. I would like to see it go to someone who would benefit most from it. Maybe we just all need to take a vote and settle it that way?

Btw, who did Eunn ticket the frag to from our first joint raid night? Whoever recieved it should also have 2 frags too...

I think the best way to handle it at this point is common sense. I've been pretty busy and missed a good chunk of raids, and that's not good for a mace candidate. You and Inori are the only extremely consistent viable choices. Inori seems pretty set on not accepting it over anyone else, so I vote Sxy being the first to receive if she's there, and if she's absent, Inori.

That's of course just my thoughts, but it seems to make the most sense to me.
