Yes, I have read and understand them.
Which of the following best describes your raiding goals? The rest of your application will be judged based on the answer to this question.
1. Raid whenever you have time in whatever group is most convenient
2. Raid consistently in a normal mode group and maybe some heroics
3. Dedicated to progressing through heroics at whatever rate the group is capable of
4. Hardcore heroic progression
5. None of the above, please explain:
3 best describes me. And I'm not just saying that because it says that one the front page! I can't do the super hardcore progression raiding. I raid on my warlock fridays and saturdays and have been enjoying playing my DK a lot. I'm not looking for 8/8H any time soon, but I'd at least like to do more than the 6/8 pugs I've had to do on him since I left Crisis on him.
What is your raid experience? Please list as much as you think is relevant.
7/13H tier 11, 6/7H tier 12, 2/8H tier 13 for Cataclysm. Was 11/12H by the 10% buff in ICC, 4/5H ToC25, 5/5H ToC10, and prior to that I was raiding more or less casually. I'm a quick learner.
Why did you leave your previous (current) guild?
I was in Crisis on my DK and...they were a little too big for their britches, to put it nicely. Got tired of wiping on heroic Morchok for 1-2 hours a night followed by 2 full nights of Zon'ozz wipes where we never even got past the first black phase. Very little communication between raid leaders and raiders, lots of time in between pulls on progression content, and overall a raid environment that I didn't enjoy being part of.
Does anyone in our guild know you?
Hmmm. Not that I know of You may have done pugs or something with me or my warlock (Horrendous, formerly Gakpad) though.
How did you find out about our guild?
Saw you on wowprogress and was pretty impressed with your two new heroic kills yesterday. You guys seem promising
How many alts do you have and is this your main?
I have two character at 85 - my warlock and my DK. Technically my warlock is my main, but for the purpose of this application I should tell you that I research and practice and study both of my characters to the same extent and take my DK just as seriously as my warlock. I can guarantee you there will be zero conflict of interest since I really only play my warlock on Fridays and Saturdays for the most part anyway. I've been spending more and more time on my DK recently.
What are your play times?
I play 5-7 hours every day in the evenings except for Monday which I have school all day for. I have classes Mondays/Wednsdays so your raid schedule fits PERFECTLY for me. Its hard to find guilds that don't raid mondays/Wednsdays. I can make wednsday raids if need be also, I just usually get home around ~7 server time.
Which of our raid times would you be able to make?
Your group 2 raid times on Tuesday/Thursday.
Would you be willing to sit out if it is necessary without a fuss?
Yep. When I raid, I raid for the guild I'm with, not myself. I'd rather be part of a 4/8H guild and have to sit for a new heroic than part of a 3/8H guild because I insisted on staying in for a fight you have someone better ready to come in for.
Have you spent proper time and money into your gear / enchants / gems?
Yes. I don't use crap enchants/gems/professions and take my character seriously. I'd be embarassed if I didn't
Raiders are expected to use consumables during raids. In the following categories what consumable would you use and why?
- Flask/Elixirs: 300 strength flask - obviously When I'm tanking I use either 450 stam flask or 225 mastery/90 resistance elixirs depending on the fight
- Well Fed: 90 strength - again, duh Strength's my best stat by a fair margin
- Potion: Golemblood. Only option I prepot as well.
If you are DPS, what is the (spell) hit your character needs to be viable in a raid?
8%, 7% from gear because I'm a draenei.
What is the basic gemming strategy for your character?
Strength gems in every socket unless the net gain from using a hybrid gem + the socket bonus works out to be better than if I used a straight strength gem in the socket (I use simcraft after every upgrade to determine my stat weights)
What is the basic reforging strategy for your character?
In order of highest priority to lowest:
Reforge crit into hit until cap wherever possible
reforge crit into expertise until cap wherever possible
Reforge excess hit into haste wherever possible, mastery if the piece already has haste
reforge excess expertise into haste wherever possible, mastery if the piece already has haste
reforge mastery into haste wherever possible
reforge crit into mastery if the piece already has haste on it
What is your favorite boss fight and why? What boss haven't you fought that you're looking forward to the most?
Favorite fight would have to be heroic Hagara. Just a fun fight - I get to use dark simulacrum (yay!) and there's plenty of mechanics that most DS bosses seem to lack
Heroic Gunship seems like it'll be a pretty interesting fight. Lots of stuff going on, not to mention every other gunship fight in the game so far has been piss easy. It'll be a nice change.
What boss mod(s) do you use?
DBM
What website(s) do you use to read up on encounters proactively?
Tankspot, wowhead, mmo-champion, I pretty much read every reliable website I can get my hands on.

Anything else we missed or you want to tell us?
I strongly enjoy raiding in a 10 man environment. It allows for closer collaboration between players, more flexibility in groups, and not to mention its a whole lot easier to get 10 good players together than 25 good players, especially on this server >_> I'd really appreciate the opportunity to raid with you. I'm a consistent raider - I will NOT miss a raid day unless there's some sort of emergency. My warlock's attendance over the last ~year I've been actively playing is somewhere between 99 and 100%. I apply that philosophy to all my characters. I constantly research my classes and strive to perform as close to my potential as possible. Thanks for taking the time to go over this app
edit: hurr durr my age is not George and I do in fact have a name
