Sorry about not getting this up sooner.  I was way overbooked this whole weekend.  Since we got Shade down on Thursday, this allows us a LOT of time to get attempts at Prince.MT: ThandrennPally: WeedeaterPriest: FionaaPally: Maggotmilk (unless we can get another healer, if you want to bring your mage)Rogue: DrpHunter: NagashiMage: BenvoloMage: KurumiWarlock: OnestarDPS: TBAChessPrinceAttumenMaidenSo sorry for the short notice with the rosters...Also, Akuma will be unavailable for the raid tonight.  There are only a few trash pulls that we would need an OT for, so if we really need someone to OT we can find a sub.  But since we only need one tank for Prince, I would like to try filling Akuma's OT spot with another dps.  Please read up on the Prince fight again.Also we will be using a different tanking position for these attempts.  We are going to try and use the safe zones.  These are 2 areas where, due to the texture maps I think, the infernals will not damage us, or be able to land.  I think the positions are pretty exact, so we may still have to deal with them, but its worth a try.  These are the positions we will take for the fight   linkInvites at 7:30, first pull at 8pmSee you all tonight!

I would say we need a druid/priest/ or a good hunter. the first 5  pulls towards chess have 4 mobs and we only have 1 shackle and 1 trap but If you plan to do attumen we will definitly need to get an off tank.I dont have a problem trading out with an off tank for that fight though if it means we can have an extra dps for prince

So, the raid did not go as well as I had hoped for.  Overall I think everyone did a pretty good job.However there was one person in the raid that was not doing their job well.  That was me.  In some way, shape, or form, most of the problems were my fault.  I got the roster up really really late, so people that were not able to make it then had to give me short notice, since I gave them short notice.  This resulted in us having to PUG people.  These people were not at the level that we were.  Between not having a working vent, or being saved to a different raid id, it left us starting at least an hour late.  I am sure that this got on everyones nerves, and set a not so fun tone for the evening.  I had a new strategy for Prince, which in theory would have worked great.  However I didn't research it enough, and it resulted in at least 2 wipes.  So 2 attempts where all we learned was that the safe zone strategy does not work well for us.  It may not even work at all anymore.  It could have been fixed in a patch a while ago and WoWWiki never updated.  This is something I should have checked on the forums for.  As if that wasn't enough, my computer went nuts, and WoW crashed; resulting in me not being able to log in for like 30 minutes before Prince.So all of these things just added up to a not so great raid.  We got bosses down, but it did not feel that smooth, and was not as fun as it usually is.  We didn't have that group synergy we usually have.  So I am going to try a lot harder to be better for you all.  I will get the rosters out a lot earlier, I will have tactics that I know will work with our group, and I will try and keep a better pace through the instance.  Anyway, thanks to everyone that attended, esp those that came on very short notice.Benvolo

Don't blame yourself. This is our second week of attempting Prince and even with a less-than-par pugged player, we got him to 49%.

Loot:

Chess:
Bladed Shoulderpads of the Merciless -> Drp
Headdress of the High Potentate -> Zuklen

Maiden:
Bracers of Maliciousness -> Shard
Gloves of Quickening -> Shard

Attumen:
Vambraces of Courage -> Shard
???? -> Don't remember. Senility strikes again.

Wow.  Ohhnoo  .. Ohhnnno?   Not very good about running out of that Shadow Nova ... one time he just stayed in and meleed. This fight is a test of a couple things.  1.  How smart/geared your healers are -- reactive healing does not cut it in this fight, there are points when the tank is taking just too much damage. 2.  How geared your tank is -- he's the only one who should be receiving any damage, aside from the maybe ONE second of realizing someone is too close to an infernal.  Melee should be running out.  Thandrenn's tanking set is looking really good. 3.  How smart your melee DPS is -- they need to run out so as not to suck up heals meant for the MT, and run in to still do the damage.  Running out on every enfeeble is a good idea when learning the fight so you know how far to go and get the practice of the quick GTFO.  You could work around this by stacking the raid with ranged .. but really, just learn to react fast and live.  In phase 3 when he doesn't enfeeble anymore you can go to town.. I think Ohhnnoo cost the fight for you -- in the first attempts you need 10 contributers.  The DPS demands are too much to lose one early ..  I didn't pay too much attention to things other than that, because it's a big punch in the morale when someone drops like that -- so I dont blame things falling apart when such an obvious blowit happens early.  I can't tell when things made it to phase 2 - but things to keep in mind from the tanking standpoint would be quaffing that Ironshield -- Moroes Pocket Watch when it's up -- this is a big avoidance fight so if you have swap gear, swap for the higher avoidance stuff. Other than the melee blowit - the attempts look pretty clean.

yeah don't be so hard on yourself, it's supposed to be challenging if it wasn't then it wouldn't be fun, the biggest reward in raiding aside from the loot is the completion of a goal and the harder it is the more satisfaction when completed, unless it's honor or rep grinds! In any event I had fun and it's a game which we play for fun so mission accomplished.

Yes, easiest way to stay alive...  Also, being high dps you are probably to be one of the enfeebled most of the time anyways.  CoS is nice, but if it doesnt get hit in time you are taking a chance of 3k damage, plus you could be blown back into an infernal, and that always results in healing that doesn't need to happen.  The healers really need to be focusing on the tank the whole time, and having them switch to heal a melee person could cost the fight.

And also, you might be thinking that you can position yourself in front of Prince since the tank will have him facing a wall anyways, and thus you will not get thrown back into an infernal.  The problem is, you will have to stop attacking at this point anyways, since he does a crushing blow when he parries an attack, so you MUST attack from behind only.  Therefore, you are going to sit there for the same amount of time it would take you to run out, so you only gain a second or two of dps'ing when you would be running back in.  So, in summary, run out every time and try to stay alive :)
