Hydross -- Resist Tanking

Post by Akumabarai »

Chuunks/Thandrenn: If you need help with primals/cash, or just running someone through a heroic for a nether, please speak up. Some of us have too much time to kill and would be happy to help farm or whatever to get things movin along.I can also make both nature and frost armor kits if needed.Unfourtunately all the good gear is plate, so I can only hope to be an OT in this fight.Even as an OT, you need high resistance gear, so I've been putting together some of the following:http://thottbot.com/i27895  <- Ran heroic ramps a few times, still haven't seen this drop >_<http://thottbot.com/i12344  <- but I have this, which works ok, just less armor. (URBS attunement)http://thottbot.com/i12065  <- also have this from the UBRS attunement quest line.http://thottbot.com/i28301  <- I have this, easy to farm from normal bot.I still have to run the calculations to see if I can have a nature resist neck and frost resist ring made, and still be crit immune. But that about does it for the resistance gear I can achieve.Useful for searching

Miramel wroteWell, I suggest the guild alchemists start transmuting earth -> water ASAP to build up the supply of waters.  Hanh will start tonight on making them.  Not sure on a good source of the fires though...
i have air -> fire and mana -> fire, both of which are easier to come across than fire, so i'll start working on those.  we can probably also get a group together and take over the elemental plateau sometime and see how that goes.

keep in mind. the ot doesnt need to be prot. jsut needs high stam and resist. many guilds just use a holy pally or anything that can achieve high stam with 150 of frost/nature resistand they can be in cloth. doesnt really matter. just needs the stam high. theres no melee dmg in this fight.

Where do we send mats to if we're going to to contribute? I'm sitting on a mountain of primals right now.

Deposited the Iceguard Helm into raiding supplies yesterday -- we're only working on 2 of the plate frost pieces at this point.I can craft all of them -- I have nether to spare too, but my resources are pretty tapped gearing up my priest.I'll gather a list of mats for the nature ring and misc stuff that would fit in the nature set I have left.

BTW - as I'm working on my nature set, it occurs to me that it's great to be a packrat -- I've saved my Kara upgrades so it will be easy to swap in nature enchants, while working out my correct defense.Food for thought when passing on gear you already have -- future resistance fights.  Again I curse myself for that incident with the Maiden gauntlets ...

191 Nature Resist currently while keeping to 490 defense ... still need to: +20 Helm Enchant  +8   Leg Enchant +70 Aspect of Nature (Hunter Buff) +35 MotW +7? Cloak Enchant (wasn't listed on Hydross page) +? Chest Enchant= 191+133 (+7? +?)= 323 (+7? +?)Could replace my +20 NR ring with Natural Ward for an additional +15 ... someone in this thread posted the max which I wasn't aware of, I'll go reread and see what I need to adjust.  I've logged out in my NR set to view.I could also shuffle some enchants/gems around if I need to bump it higher ... but I'd prefer not to without replacement gear obviously..... (re-reading) ... AWESOME, so if I replace my ring with Natural Ward, I'm at the cap.

So a couple people have asked me if they should put primals in the guild bank or send them straight to the tanks... Looks like raid tab 1 is pretty full, if needed I can always hold em.  Let me/us know yo.

There's an enchant for specifc nature resistance to cloak (20) , instead of 7 resist all

http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=25082

It's cenarion circle rep, but I think dudepal has it
