realm connection

Post by draven »

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/11160806299

we are being merged with azgalor / azshara at some point:
http://www.wowprogress.com/pve/us/azgalor
http://www.wowprogress.com/pve/us/azshara

they look like more balanced realms than destro, although still horde dominant, but it will double the size of the realm and more than quadruple the number of alliance raiders. hopefully we'll be able to find some more people to kill dragons with, since we'll need at least 20 for mythic in wod.

enjoy / exploit the emptiness of destro while you can ;)

interesting, azshara wasn't listed earlier, although it is relatively tiny even compared to destro. that explains why i was seeing weird things with guild transfers on azgalor. i updated shaklin's numbers post, i'm curious to see where things are right before the merge. it looks like they're both central time servers, which makes me wonder where we'll end up.

"We will be connecting the realms listed below on Thursday, January 16th during a scheduled maintenance beginning at 5 a.m. PST through approximately 1:00 p.m. PST. Once maintenance is finished, these realm connections will be complete."

one week. also, before i forget to mention it, there have been rumors of items in the mail and on the ah that disappear after the realm connection is complete, so you may want to make sure that everything is in a bag or bank somewhere wednesday night.

I've seen these posts too. I didn't experience any problems when Echo Isles merged, but its best to be cautious anyways. I'll make sure I have no auctions or mail waiting.

By the way, Azgalor and Azshara are already connected. We would be the third in their group. On an interesting note, some of the characters which I've created on those realms already had buttons set in their hotbars corresponding to other classes (one of my toons had a bunch of hunter actions; the other had a bunch of death knight actions). I think that I took over the names of people that transferred off the server and the system gave me their leftover action bar settings.

this has been delayed until tomorrow, i'm guessing due whatever issues they ran in to yesterday that caused several of the servers go down.

Looking over the Alliance guilds on the two other servers and looks like we are tied with one and ahead of the rest.

On Azshara, there is only one guild (The Dark Legion) who has entered SoO normal and they are 13/14.

Azgalor is doing much better. Their top ally guild Celestial Darkness just downed Heroic Immerseus and Norushen a couple days ago, so they are just behind us. Their other two guilds worth mentioning are Minions of Mars and Animosity, who are 13/14 and 12/14 respectively.

We should be pretty well off once merger happens. Looks like there is some raiding experienced players on the other realms, and between those without a raiding guild or for whom our schedule works better, we should be able to recruit enough between now and WoD to give Mythical difficulty raids a go. Also will finally give us some competition on the server again, which we have lacked for awhile (other than PinkBird, which has had their struggles).

the connection is complete, servers are back up, and everything appears to be fine on my characters. trade chat is more active than it has been in recent and not so recent memory. dalaran is no longer crz'd, which is weird after always being so busy, although that may be temporary. mail is currently lacking senders name's, but the items are there.

server time is now central as i suspected it might end up. it looks like we're in a different battle group as well, we used to be in rampage, but now i believe we're in ruin, although i don't know if that matters anymore. dalaran seems to be back to normal crzmode.

indeed, i've been wondering when the armory is going to be updated. i thought it might be something that happened during some sort of nightly maintenance / data syncing, but now i'm guessing it probably won't be updated until tuesday.
