25M MoP

Post by wwcnd2 »

Before you guys become to overwhelmed, just here me out. When the new tier comes out, lets at least start a 25m to see how it develops. Combine g4/g2/g1 and other raiders, casual raiders and if things do not pan out; we can just go back to our regular groups. I just hope to see us all raid together. Sometimes i do not like the fact that we are separated, it just be nice to all be together as one team, Forged Alliance :).

The two big questions are:

1) How do you intend to handle loot without drama?
2) How do you intend to handle the roster without drama?

Speaking for myself, I am willing to *participate* in a 25 man raid on one of my alts. I intend to keep my priest unlocked for a 10 man group.

i can't think of anything nice to say about 25s, so instead i'll just say that i would support it as best as i can, but the likelihood of me actively participating is somewhere right around zero.

I will be using the EPGPLootmaster and everyone else who raids with me would be required to use it for loot distribution among the raid. If this is a problem with anyone they will have to take it up with me. I will handle the roster on who will earn a spot in the raid. As drama goes, I will expect people to be mature enough to not start drama. I will make sure I do what is right for the moral of the raid as whole and dis include players that are being a pest.

EPGP -- got it. Going back to the roster, it takes 25 people to raid. How are you going to handle when 23 people show up? Grab two pugs (pugs don't have mumble or EPGP installed and are generally unpleasant to raid with)? Underman with two people down? Do you increase the roster to 27 people? Now how do you handle when 27 people show up? Regularly bench the same 2 people so that they stop showing up? Do you rotate all 27 people? How does your #1 DPS feel when it's his turn to be rotated out? Do you only rotate 13 people? How do those 13 people feel about the other 14 people who never get rotated?

This is what I mean by having a clear plan. I do not take it lightly that G2 + G4 have arrived at their current roster system over the course of three tiers of raiding.

I will go ahead and throw out the notion that myself, Jeff, and a handful of people are not big fans of raiding 25s. You may elect to fix your roster at 25 individuals and backfill with the alts of the people that only want to run 10s.

How I view 25 mans...

all asshatery aside though, I am not a big fan of 25 mans. I like the way 10 mans work (generally), and I like playing with a smaller group of the same people every night. If you can make a 25 man that runs just as smooth as a well oiled 10 man group I would probably be indifferent(ish) to running in that vs a 10 man.

However, you would also need to hardware check your raiders as well. 25 mans are a whole different beast when it comes to the hardware it takes to get playable fps in there. I know my system would not be able to get a consistent 60fps in a 25 man raid like I can in a 10 man.

I prefer 10s, but I'm not opposed to try 25 again. I can't do weekends 90% of the time, and I saw Inori state in another post the idea would be Friday/Sat. Traditionally, these are the hardest days to get a lot of people on.

Ok! lol. I was just preferring a fun 25m at the start of the MoP tier for shits n giggles. Of course you need Class Leaders/Officers. I was just seeing what your thoughts were. I would never command a 25m with just myself. Like I said, I liked the thought of us all together. Hell, I was thinking at the end of this tier to make a 25m to end it with a bang in DS. Just throwing it out there. I know how a 25m runs, just.. i cant do it myself. I do like 10m's or else i wouldn't be here. :) . Sure, i've pugged 25m's, they went very shitty; self explanatory, shits going to hit the fan with pugs. Without the right cooperation and team work and excellent players a 25m could never possibly progress. I'm only saying we have the weapons and leadership to create a 25m. We have well leadership and common sense. Sure, its a lot more complicated than it seems :geek: . It wouldn't go as stressful if we formed one ourselves. I wish I would have been here when you did do 25m's. I take your words for it though, it's stressful and not worth it but, I only have the willpower to create one.
