PVP Time!

On the home page I clicked my favorite BG which for Gathgor is AV. Why? Cause I can tank Drek. I am full protection specced and therefore I completely suck at BGs. Before the 41 point talents came out I had more points in Arms and Fury so I could at least deal some damage, but now I lose EVERY fight. I am also not a very skilled pvp-er, but I think I could kill Gathgor with my 47 warlock at this point! Do any of the warriors in the guild have suggestions for BGs when you are protection specced? I wanna tank for raids, but I may have to pass on pvp stuff due to my spec... unless it is AV. Any thoughts would be appreciated... especially from the uber tanks in this guild!

Hi Gath,Welcome to the non-PvP world of prot specced warriors T here are hybrid specs that would help us out a bit more, in terms of DPS, but let's face... pvp is mainly bout doing damage. Prot specced tanks can be useful but mostly as a means of surviving long enough for help to arrive. IMHO, classes such as Priests and Warriors have to make a choice when speccing... do I want to do be focused on pvp or raiding? Creating a hybrid talent build might strengthen one side but definitevely reduces effectiveness of the other. You can do more dps, but might be giving up some talents that make you a more effective tank. This doesn't mean that you can't do more DPS and still be a great tank, it just means sacrificing some of the upper-end talents like Vitality. And a side note, not every tank has to be protection specced to help out the raid. There are some situations that might favor a prot specced tank above a fury/arms specced tank and vice versa. All in all, plan your talents to give you the most satisfaction playing the game. Raid runs aren't an individual effort and will require the entire group's help to be successful.So... have it and have some fun! -Mahnalor

Just got my lock to 48 tonight. Will prolly just pvp with her. I like tanking with Gath, but who knows, maybe I'll go arms/fury through the 60's. NOT

The problem with AV for a group is that you can't group queue for AV. It blows. As a group we can only really do WSG or AB.

Unless you like dying a lot, i wouldnt reccomend PVPing with your prot spec warr, since ive switched im useless in BG's, gone are my 1600 crits replaced with 400 to 600, i used to be able to 3 shot locks and mages, now they laugh at me

Gath K and I spoke to Tom about prot spec PvP and he says you will be fine as long as you duel wield and if you have the devastate skill just spam it and you should do decent damage. He says you wont do major damage like you would with an Arms build and a decent 2h but you should do enough to win you a few fights. I personally havent tried my spec with duel wield but will probably respec come xpac anyway.

Well, that is definitely what I will try... which brings me to my next question... Is FA going to host a guild PVP run? At this point, I think it would be best doing world pvp right near honor hold or we could still to AV with those that are 60. I guess we could do the AV for 61's; we will likely only have a few 62's on the opposing side, LOL.

OK, Gathgor is now 42/5/5, almost all arms. Let's PVP! Anyone wanna do AB this weekend? Can we set up a schedule for like 2 hours of PVPing?
